Organizational Structure for RCTPP

Article I – Name of Organization – The name of the organization will be Rowan County TEA Party Patriots,

hereinafter referred to as RCTPP.

 

Article II – Mission Statement – Our focus is to engage the people of Rowan County with politics at every

level. Our concerns include the growth of government, excessive regulations, taxing, and spending. We

want liberty, the liberty that was given to us by God and protected by the state and federal Constitutions.

We will work toward the limited representational republican government that is based on the rule of law

and the rights of the individual that the United States founders envisioned. We will work to influence

elections by supporting the most liberty supporting candidates through grassroots networking efforts.

Once elected, government officials will be monitored closely to ensure continued adherence to these

liberty principles.

 

Article III – Scope of Activities – Using an Action Team oriented structure, Elected Leadership and an

Advisory Board; RCTPP’s activities primarily revolve around accomplishing our stated mission.

Article IV – Leadership, Advisory Board

♣ Leadership shall consist of an elected Chairman and Secretary. They will hold office for two

years and new elections will be held at the February monthly social/meeting (Biannual starting February

2015). Recall of the elected leadership will come with a Super Majority vote (70%) of RCTPP voting

members at any monthly social/meeting.

♣ Leadership will appoint Action Team leadership to RCTPP’s Action Teams.

♣ Action Team Leadership, and members of their team, will provide action items for the

organization and set agenda for the bi-monthly Leadership Team meetings and quarterly Advisory Board

meeting.

♣ If any Action Team Leader leaves “office” in the middle of the term, the remaining Action Team

Leaders shall suggest candidates for the vacated position.

♣ Any Action Team Leader may be removed by consensus of the Leadership. Action Teams

include: 1. Planning & Development, 2. Neighborhood Networking, 3. Research, 4. County/School, 5.

Events/Liaison, 6. City

♣ The Leadership will vote on expenditures over $200.00

♣ Select, define, control, promote, report progress and complete Action Team projects

♣ Changes to this Organizational Structure will come with a Super Majority vote (70%) of

RCTPP voting members

 

Article V – Advisory Board

♣ An Advisory Board will provide advice to RCTPP leadership (Made up of Action Team Leaders

(voting), one from each team, and the Treasurer (non-voting) and one At-Large Member (voting), who

facilitates the meetings – To Be Decided by a 50%+1 vote by the Leadership Team). Leadership will

appoint Advisory board members.

♣ The Advisory Board will set priorities for long and short term objectives based upon RCTPP’s

mission statement

 

Article VI – Treasurer

1. Maintain all reports, statements and other required documents

2. Collect, expend, and keep account of all the moneys received and spent by the group

3. Collect and deposit funds in the name of the organization

4. Prepare and present a financial report at the Advisory Board meetings

 

Article VII – Meetings

1. Leadership will meet once every other (odd) month on the 1st Tuesday.

2. The Advisory Board will meet once a quarter on the 2nd Tuesday of Jan, Apr, Jul, and Oct. An Advisory

Board meeting may also be called by the Leadership between regular meetings when needed.

3. A monthly social/meeting, open to all, will take place the 3rd Tuesday of the month.

 

Article VII – Membership

Membership will consist of voting (paid membership) and non-voting (form membership) members. Voting

membership can be revoked by the leadership for disrupting meetings or the RCTPP mission.

 

RCTPP’s Action Teams:

Planning & Development Action Team

The Planning and Development Team takes care of the group’s communications (marketing, PR,

image, etc.), finances (fundraising and PAC treasurer responsibilities) and administrative tasks

(bi-weekly e-mail distribution, website and media page administration, membership, monthly

meeting coordination, team support and volunteer recruitment).

 

Neighborhood Networking Action Team

The Neighborhood Networking Team will focus on the local elections and influencing the vote

in Rowan County. We will work to organize volunteers to pass out candidate endorsement lists

in targeted neighborhoods pre-election and at the polling places during early voting, as well as on

Election Day in both the autumn Primary and General Election.

 

Research Action Team

The Research Team will focus on finding/ vetting candidates and organizing the process of

RCTPP’s endorsements. We will also look for ways to educate people in the community and our

members on issues that we face by posting articles on media for people to access.

 

County/School Board Action Team

The County/School Board Team will work to keep up with issues that are facing the BoCC and

BoE. They will attend meetings, organize and encourage speakers from the floor and writing

campaigns. They will correspond with our elected officials and encourage conservative voting

patterns and limiting the growth of government. They will work to keep our members up to date

on County and School Board business.

 

Events/Liaison Action Team

The Events/Liaison Team works to host an annual Toys for Tots, as well as other large events,

they set up a RCTPP informational booth at community functions and help facilitate RCTPP’s

fundraisers, if needed. They help secure speakers when necessary. They work in tandem with

other Liberty groups, when appropriate, and strive to keep lines of communication open.

 

City Action Team

The City Team will work to keep up with issues that are facing the Rowan County

municipalities, if possible. They will attend meetings, organize and encourage speakers from

the floor and writing campaigns. They will correspond with our elected officials and encourage

conservative voting patterns and limiting the growth of government. They will share information

with each other. They will work to keep our members up to date on municipality’s business

dealings.
